Beach Camping

Standard

Last weekend we met up with some family and went camping on the beach. This was Hannah’s first camp-out ever! Hurrah!

Other than freezing a little bit, it was super fun!  I forgot a beanie for Hannah, but a pair of her leggings worked fabulously.  We brought our nice, huge tent and could fit the three of us along with Jake’s sister Emily and her little family.  That meant two pack and plays for the babies and a dog or two in the mix.  I was nervous about how the night would go with the babies, dogs, snoring (no names mentioned), cold, etc., but it went much better than I thought! Half way through the night she ended up in the sleeping bag with me, so mommy didn’t get the best sleep, but who can really mind cuddling with such a cutie?!

I didn’t get a picture of our camping area just hanging by a dirt road overlooking the ocean, but here’s one to show the background scenery. Rather barren, I suppose, but it was still enjoyable. (Ignore my funny pose.) Jake’s cousin and his family planned our fun trip, fed us breakfast AND lunch! Their boys showed us their awesome riding skills on these three-wheelers.

Hmm… not so much Brooklyn? Curl up those cute little toes! 🙂

Hannah couldn’t get enough of exploring the rocks, sand and sea shells. Isn’t she just looking like such a big girl??

The water, on the other hand… brought her to tears. Yeah, it was a bit cold. Aren’t we are such great parents… we just had to dip her feet in! 🙂  Jake’s cousin and his children all braved the waters on their boogie-boards, though. I was impressed.

This was actually about 30 minutes from where we camped, in Galveston. Fun little place. We took a ferry (in our vehicles) ride to get there and enjoyed the much-more-sandy-beach.

Well here’s my only picture of Pepper (below) peaking around at me taking a picture. She LOVED the beach and chased those waves as hard as she could–those natural herding skills kicking in.

Until next time!
